Hello, It's been a while!

Well, it's pretty much been forever since I've updated this silly thing! Sorry for making you wait. I know you sit around all day hoping that I'll update my blog - just like I'm sure you waste hours looking on Facebook. Oh, caught yah. Anyways, winter quarter is going fantastically. It's such a different pace than normal since soccer is over. Sad but true. And I may or may not love it. But a lot of fun stuff has happened this quarter with those I love. God bless good friends is all I can say! Here's a quick recap:

First, leadership retreat was awesome. Tizz, Torrie and I went along with 100 other students from OU. It was out in the boonies aka Canter's Cave. It was nice because I hadn't been out there since my freshman year on Spring Fling. So it brought back a lot of GOOD memories! Iron Violin, Rachel Sanders, SNL and other great things. Check out my pics on Facebook. But this time around it was special cuz it was the beginning of something great: SAT900. Few can understand, and that's okay because it's not meant to be understood. Thanks ladies for a great weekend. It was challenging personally but needed, indeed.

Second, I broke my finger. Now, I know what you're thinking, "Rod, didn't you already break a finger?" Well, no, actually that was my thumb, but, yes, this is my second broken appendage. Stupid finger. It happened during Intramural Basketball. The only cool thing that came out of it was that, after breaking the finger from not catching a pass correctly, I proceeded to dribble behind my back and pass the ball off to a teammate - never turning the ball over. Talk about a baller. Little did I know that my finger was pointing in the wrong direction. I think I experienced EVERY emotion possible: confusion, terror, anger and embarassment. Yeah, I know... My dad later told me that I should just give up basketball since I keep breaking fingers (this being my second). I told him, "There's a risk in every sport, Dad." Deep.

Thirdly, I thought I was going to get through this cold season without "catching" the cold. Boy, was I wrong. I've been battling a stuffy, runny nose for EVA! Compound that with a cough and a loss of voice and you've pretty much walked in my shoes for the past 3 weeks. Sweet.

Fourthly, I went to my 4th consecutive AIA conference last weekend. It was AWESOME. You would think that the same conference would get old after a while, but this one NEVER does! The girls were amazing and I loved watching them grow and get excited about God. Truthfully, that was my favorite part of the weekend. Not so much what God is doing personally in me but being able to witness others be affected by Him. Truely a blessing. Oh, and don't forget seeing my girl, Jen!

Fifthly, our second annual Dance Dance Revolution is upon us. This one should be awesome by God's grace. I'm sure the soccer team will represent. I mean, we're DDR champions already...we've got the upper-hand. Although, that can be a tough spot since we have to defend our title. Either way, I am just excited to try and get the whole of the OU athletic community involved. Be praying for participation and changed hearts!

Lastly, I've been enjoying growing in the Lord especially within relationships. My relationship with Dave challenges me so much. It's good when you can see some tough spots in your own life - such as stubborness and pride. Yep, I said it. I've got them both. The hard part is dealing with them with someone else. Because that person has to see some of the "not-so-perfect" sides of you. But don't get me wrong, it's a blast. I don't know where this relationship will go, but I'm enjoying the ride and praying for God's best in whatever direction it goes. * Congratulations *

Okay, I'm exhausted. That's all I've got for yah. Enjoy and if you want more. Hollar at a girl. If not, thanks for reading!

Peace out cub scout.
