A Nugget of Truth ...
This Spring has quite possibly been one of the most refreshing and healing seasons in my life. I've done a lot of processing these past two weeks and thinking about the things I have learned. Not academically but rather more spiritually. God has been amazing this quarter, no ...this year. I've learned so much about who I am in light of God as a woman. I've learned how to identify and let go of some wounds in my life. And I feel an amazing freedom and peace ...but also an intense joy and energy from the Lord.
I have been reading a book, Captivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman's Soul by John and Stasi Eldredge, and it has been life-changing. I just finished the book up while resting on this wonderful day, and I fully enjoyed the way in which these authors conclude this book. It is a challenge. Rather, an invitation. This invitation is one of life and one of an irreplaceable role. I see myself going through a season of healing in my heart and as I read these words I'm excited about what the Lord can and will do in my life if I only take the invitation.
"You will find that as God restores your heart and sets you free, you will recover long-lost passions, long-forsaken dreams. You'll find yourself drawn to some vision for making the world a better place. Those emerging desires are invitations - not to rush out and attempt them immediately. That also is naive. They are invitations to bring your heart to your Lover and ask him to clarify, to deepen, to speak to you about how and when and with whom. We love Frederick Buechner's description when he writes,"The place that God calls us is that place where the world's deep hunger and our deep desire meet," (Captivating, by John and Stasi Eldredge).
Amazing! Read it again and fully taken in the magnitude and see how exciting it is! I wonder. I wonder so much in my own life. God is amazing.
