Bloom'n Athens
Hey all.
It wasn't until yesterday that I noticed the trees are starting to bloom. The light hit High Street beautifully in the late afternoon yesterday as I drove to Action Group. And I finally took a moment to actually SEE the beauty around me (even though it was High Street). But how many times do we actually slow our day down and appreciate nature around us? I often wonder this myself because I don't do it as much as I would like to. But, in my old age, I'm realizing that I absolutely love the daytime. Sunshine is awesome. Some people are night owls and some people are morning people ...but I would like to think of myself as a nooner. That's right, a nooner. I love the afternoon hours. It's captivatingly beautiful. And the light ...maybe it's because I'm a photographer and noticing the light is drilled into my head, but I like to think it's because I honestly enjoy the God's beauty. I love walking in Athens around campus and feeling the sunshine on my skin. I love wearing sunglasses because it's too bright outside without them. I love flip-flops. And I love the smells of all the newly blooming trees, flowers and plants.
So it's official, people. I'm a nooner. I hope that you take stock and see what type of person you are. Take a look around. When are you happiest during the day. Or at night? Ah, the things one ponders during the college years ...
