I am a Reading Maniac
I've come to the conclusion that I am a complete reading maniac. Now, this isn't such a bad thing. In the past two years or so I've come to fully appreciate the richness in literature. I like all kinds of reading. Lately, I've been really interesting in books that deal with the heart. I've learned so much about contentment of the heart, unlocking the courage to love with abandon, as well as, the lies that women often allow themselves to believe. All of these things have helped to mold and shape my character and life. I feel as though my knowledge has expanded and as a result, I've been able to take a step back and really evaluate my own life. Where do I fit in with everything I'm reading? And through this initial interest of the heart, I've been able to see things in my life that needed and still need changing. Pretty awesome if I say so myself.
So for your reading enjoyment, I thought I would post a few that I've recently read:
Calm My Anxious Heart by Linda Dillow: Fantastic book. It really changed a lot in my life in terms of contentment. Quite a nugget.
Wild at Heart by John Eldredge: A book geared towards men, but a very good read for women. ( Check out the female version "Captivating"!!)
Lies Women Believe and the truth that sets them free by Nancy Leigh DeMoss: Great book that really connected a lot of dots for me.
Brave Hearts by Sharon A. Hersh: I'm currently in the process of reading this one and, let me say, it's been awesome. I just finished a part where Hersh talks about the power of a woman's story of struggle, the rewards of repentance and the fruits of forgiveness...as well as much more!
All of these books have been amazing ...AND the journey is not complete. I just ordered two new books today! One, as mentioned above, is a new book by John Eldredge called "Captivating". This book is the female version of the popular "Wild at Heart". Also, I ordered "Every Woman's Battle". I'm excited for these new books to see what God wants to reveal to me. Anyways, for those of you who may not enjoy a good book ...I understand because I've been in that position. But for those of you who can't get enough, please let me know your recommendations!
Have a glorious day!

Here are some recommendations from a random 24-year-old college grad:
Check out Ted Dekker. He writes some phenomenal fiction!
The Giver by Lois Lowry is a great short read. It's "young adult fiction", but it really makes you think.
I happen to be in the middle of reading "Captivating" now and have read "Wild at Heart". Have you read "The Sacred Romance"? That's a good one, too!
Eric and Leslie Ludy have some great books out, too. "When God Writes Your Love Story" and "When Dreams Come True" are a few of my favorites.
