Holy, Bobcats!

A monumentous thing has happened on the campus of Ohio University ...

We won a huge football game. < OHIO 16 , PITT 10 >

Imagine 25,000 people cramming into Peden stadium wearing not only their Ohio Bobcat t-shirts, but also painting faces and bodies as they bang their thundersticks and wave their Bobcat towels. Nationally ranked Pittsburg didn't know what hit'em. It was a sight to see ...and remember. In my four years here at Ohio University, I have never seen such a turn out to any athletic event that Ohio has had to offer. A lot can be attributed to the famous Frank Solich and the dream given to Ohio University at his hiring. Maybe it could be because of the new athletic director or OU President, both of whom have been pushing for better athletics, fan support and community involvement. It could be a number of things, really. But all I know is I've never had so much fun at a football game.

D Lowe would have been proud of his Bobcats.

On a more sad note, we lost to Michigan just hours before the football game. It's still a touchy subject. But the brightside is that we played some of the best soccer yet. Unfortunately, we didn't play that soccer for 90 minutes. It was more like a rough 36 mins. The worst, though, is wondering what happened after the game - "did we seriously just play" - "where did all the time go?" - "it feels like a bad dream" - things of that nature.

But the graffiti wall looked good.

I'm doing good. I'm enjoying the weekend so far. I've done nothing. We don't have any practice this Saturday or Sunday, which is nice. I'm going to be able to relax, watch some football, hang out with friends and go to church. I'm really excited about church since I haven't been since last Spring. Central here I come. I'm also excited because I get to hang out with Dave on Sunday as a few of us are going hiking. That will be a nice change of scenery and a relaxing way to close out the weekend.

Anyways, I'm off to do some homework. Sweet.

My Last First Day ...Sort of.

Today is the last-first-day-of class for me here at Ohio University. Although, I will be gracing the Athens campus once more for a fifth year next Fall, I consider today as my final "true" first-last day as a senior. And the only thought going through my head is, "WHERE HAS ALL THE TIME GONE!!" I can't believe that I've put in so much time. And I can honestly say that I've loved every minute of being here - well, maybe not the food poisioning night ...definitely didn't enjoy that one - but looking back, I really have no regrets in my college experience. And I think that's saying something.

So class this quarter is going to be fun. Why? Tennis, my friends, the glorious game of tennis. I've finally taken the time out of my busy schedule to enjoy some recreation classes. And what better way to kick off the easy-peasy classes than tennis. I'm truthfully a huge tennis fan. After watching the French Open last spring, I've been hooked ever since. Can we say Rafael Nadal anyone??! What a cutie! Anyone that can rock pirate, butt pants and a bandanna has my vote. So, I'm excited to see where this tennis class takes me in life. Especially since no one other than myself looked remotely athletic in my class ...but that could just be me. Watch I'll get stomped by some buck-ten girl with stick arms. Embarrassing? Quite possibly.

I've started having my QT's in the library again. It's so strange that I actually enjoy going to the library on my free time. But Alden has become this consistent oasis for me and my one-on-one time with the Lord. It brings a lot of consistency to my day too. I highly suggest finding that one place where you feel completely comfortable and relaxed and use that as "your spot". Trust me, the 4th floor under the fake palm tree is awesome. Check it out, but don't hog the space. It's prime estate.

What else, what else. I'm enjoying hanging out with people since they've been back to town. I played an intense game of ultimate frisbee on my day off last Monday and that was fun. I'm trying to work out the details with a few other girls about Athletes in Action this year. ( Much prayer appreciated ) And boys are fun. Period.

I hope all is going well with all of you. If you happen to read this and not get extremely bored, hollar back at me. Post a comment, I dare yah. It makes me feel special ...

Staying scute,
Amy
