Close, but no cigar ...

Home is so close, I can taste it.

Although, in the famous words of Megan Oriold, at least it's not like picking a leaf up off the ground and smoking it ...it's not crackley. Rather, it's new and exciting and I can't wait to be there. Yes, folks ...you're probably wondering what in the world I'm talking about and, no, I'm not talking about smoking cigars. I'm talking about going home. I'm too excited because there's only 2 weeks left of school. But so much needs to be done before then. Lots of packing to do and finals to study for. Woah.

Anyways, I'm writing on this silly old thing because I'm procrastinating this paper I have to write on Buddhist ethics. Wow, Buddhist ethics. If you would've told me that I would be learning about Buddhist ethics ANYTIME in my lifetime I would have laughed in your face ....life's weird like that.

Back to the books.

The Countdown

Hey all.

So I decided that I mentally have a countdown going in my head until I go home on May 19th. I'm so excited! I hope that it's more fun than what I have planned out in my head. I know though, unfortunately, that it will go by way too fast and before I know it I'll be back in Athens ...working on homework. Boo. But still. I'm so excited to rush home and hopefully catch the end of the District Final game that hopefully my high school soccer team will be playing in. I'm excited to go to the lake and (cross your fingers) have nice weather to get a kick'n tan. Although, I do remember last year when I went home it was wicked cold...I mean, I was wearing jeans and sweatshirt on the boat. Not fun. Anyways, I'm excited that I'll get to hang out with the family and with Ben. It'll be nice to be back home. I miss that good old Kansas City.

Summer is around the corner ...and so many people are already enjoying it. EVERYONE IS OUT OF SCHOOL! Dang-a-lang. I totally still have another 5 weeks or so. But it's ending so fast that it'll be here before I know it. Now, I know all of you semester schools are reading the fact that I have 5 more weeks of school ...and you're probably thinking, "That sucks to be her." But in all honesty, it doesn't suck. I'm still relaxing at school...enjoying the weather and hanging out with my friends. Sure it would be nice not to have class but really I don't feel like working yet. Because you know, you semester schoolers are working right now. I'm out enjoying the sun, studying on a blanket and playing some ball. Can life get any better? ....didn't think so.

Anyways, now that we've determined that the quarter system is the best school system EVER - I think I can move on with my day. Yep, time for Buddhism class...Mahalo.

Anyone Out There?

You know, I was thinking to myself just now,"I really don't think anyone reads this silly thing." I mean, I barely read this silly thing. It's not like xanga where everytime I update it, it floods the emails of all the people subscribed to my blog. No, blogspot isn't that cool. But it has it's moments.

Anyways, it's spring quarter and it's FREEZING! Seriously, can there be a bright sunny day where I don't have to wear my North Face down vest?! Anyways, if it's not cold then it's raining so I guess I'll take the cold over rain any day.

May 19-23. The weekend that I'm most looking forward to. That's right folks, I'm coming home. I will hopefully be able to watch the district final game of my high school and support a player close to my heart by fulfilling my promise of watching her play during her senior season. My, how time flys by. By the way, my high school soccer team is tearing it up! Conference Champs just around the corner, never been done - can they hold on? I think so. We're Jaguars. We're fiesty.

Not only will I be able to see family and support my roots, but I'm going to go to the lake. Oh, the beautiful lake. Sure, the water may be freezing but that never stopped me before. I can't wait to wakeboard, waterski, jetski and tube. Did I mention the new lake house that I haven't seen yet?...Oh yeah, that too. I'm so excited and hopefully by dearest friend, Ben, will be able to join me so I can fulfill my promise of tossing him into the lake. I'm all about fulfilling promises, you know. Gotta hold up your end of the bargain.

Also, soccer has been good here at OU. Did I mention that we're sweet? We've been playing really good lately and to top it off, we had our "Camp Fun Day" yesterday where we played kickball, football and capture the flag. Those only come around once a year! It was a great time even though my team lost overall...we cleaned up on kickball. What What! Also, the annual alumni game is this weekend. A lot of old foggies are coming back into town to take on us hip-young'ns in a soccer match... Did I mention that we're sweet?....bring it on.

Other than that, I got nothin...love yah love your show. I'm out.
